Traditional Necklace from Afghanistan ~ 2 Rows of Red Stone Drops

17 & 1/2" in length with Hook & Eye Closure

Each drop has a solid metal back.

Red Stones, Wooden Beads, Metal Hishi Beads and Coin Silver.

(These items are literally made from old coins and melted down old coins.)

These slightly more expensive necklaces are made by a father and son in Afghanistan & made slightly shorter then the traditional ones, that are made to be worn over a hijab. Because they are from a smaller workshop they are of a little higher quality and that is reflected in the price.  

All of my Afghani pieces are bought for me by a dear Afghani friend, he buys these items all over Afghanistan, he buys vintage pieces at open markets and buys newly made items from local artisans. 

Many of these pieces are vintage and all are hand made and not "perfect" to western standards... but more beautiful for their little "flaws"
